Meet Anchormen: Siebert

I always like to get to know my colleagues better, so every now and then I sit down with one of them and ask some questions. So let’s meet Siebert!

Hi, I’m Siebert! Almost a year ago, I started at Anchormen in Groningen as a student – working 20 hours per week besides my Master in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Groningen. I wanted to gain substantive knowledge, so I quit my job at a bar in the city center, where I worked in the weekends from 17:00h till 23:00h. Now I’m 25 years old and I’m almost graduated from university. I am a Data Scientist at the project we’re doing for Friesland Campina. My main job is to detect patterns in customer data and to solve different business issues. Next to that, I’m busy making prediction models.

I start my day with a nice cup of coffee in the train on my way to Amersfoort, where the Friesland Campina office is located. Once I’ve arrived there, I discuss with my team what’s on the agenda of that day. I really like it that I get a lot of freedom at Anchormen to learn things that I’ve studied at university, to put that knowledge into practice. My colleagues are very friendly and helpful, the atmosphere at the office is really nice.

In my spare time I like to play football. I’m still playing in a team in my home town in Drenthe, so 3 times a week I’m traveling back and forth for training and to play matches. That takes quite some time, but luckily there’s also time left to meet my friends at the bar for a drink on Fridays.

In the future I like to learn how to lead projects and how to work with time series, but I’m pretty sure I’ll get that opportunity at Anchormen!
